Update 1.2.0


Here's a new update for No Downforce, improving graphics and fixing a little bug with the handling (hence why it's not 1.1.1)!

Graphics

  • Replaced Shadow Resolution's Very Low setting with Off, which disables dynamic shadows (i.e. shadows cast by the car and on the car). Static shadows stay regardless of the setting
  • Optimized dynamic shadows by reducing their distance and drawing only one cascade instead of four
  • Lowered default graphics settings to be more reasonable performance-wise
  • Redone how the blob shadows under cars work, they're now more optimized and more consistent across web and standalone versions
  • Added extra reflection probes to make the graphics look more detailed with Reflection Probe Quality set to Off
  • Changed real-time reflection probe's position to be at the car instead of the camera
  • Added an ambient occlusion texture to the car to make it look more detailed
  • Added a rough detail texture to the road
  • Made track borders more reflective
  • Made bloom brighter
  • Made the ghost not as blindingly bright

Audio

  • Changed scratch sound to sound more deep and to be more related to the car's speed
  • Changed tire rolling sound to be more related to the car's speed
  • Converted UI sounds to WAV format, improving performance further on weak computers

Physics

  • Fixed the car's handbrake turn behavior, making the car more responsive after 180-degree turns

UI

  • Added a loading cover to let the reflection probes generate before the race starts
  • Added a checkerboard texture to the last checkpoint's floating indicator

Bug fixes

  • Fixed bug that let you start a race while loading
